decision, and/or the suitability of the decision and any recommendations made as part of it. An appeal meeting will be arranged as soon as possible. The appeal meeting will be chaired by an independent manager who was not involved in the earlier decision. A member of the HR department will also usually be present. An appeal may be a complete re-hearing of the matter or a review of the original decision, depending on the circumstances. The outcome of any appeal will be confirmed in writing as soon as possible. There will be no further right of appeal. The date that any dismissal under this policy takes effect will not be delayed by any appeal. However, if any appeal is successful, the decision to dismiss may be revoked with no break in the continuity of the employee’s employment and no loss of pay.
